My mindset was always to go all in until I crashed. I would crave food and afterwards feel guilty and punish myself at the gym with cardio!
Since training with SLF I have shifted my mindset from cardio to weights as I was initially afraid I would get bulky. The team encouraged me to trust the process and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done not just physically but for my mental health too!
The community Sharn has built is friends I’ll have for life, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it. I couldn’t recommend stepping out of your comfort zone enough after this challenge, it’s taught me so much.. and I am so much happier for it.
If I could describe what working with SLF has taught me, it would be freedom and love for myself again.

A few words ...
I first started my "fitness journey" leading up to my wedding and I did what most girls do to #wedshred and joined an 8 week challenge. I did three 8-week challenges and while I did lose the weight, I always put it all back on again PLUS more.
I was working out every single day, sometimes twice a day doing HIIT classes and eating very low calories and barely any carbs.
Flexible dieting gives me the freedom to still enjoy the foods I love and eat out with friends and family. What all of this has taught me is how to fuel my body properly and I have never been stronger or happier!
Since working with SLF it has completely opened my eyes to a more sustainable, healthier and most importantly HAPPIER lifestyle.
Beyond any of the physical changes that people can see, by far the thing I am most thankful to Sharnie for is my new found confidence in myself!
Thank you for always encouraging me and pushing me to lift heavier or to do that extra rep!
Before starting with the SLF team, I believed that chicken, rice and veggies were the only meals I should eat to achieve my goals and that anything above 1400 cals would make me gain weight. I used to over train 6 days a week and believed carbs were the enemy and chocolate, pizza and burgers were off limits.
Since starting with SLF I now follow a flexible dieting approach, where I track my food and this has helped repair my relationship with food. Plus it gives me the freedom to eat the foods I enjoy.
A few major learnings from working with SLF for me personally include:
You can still make amazing progress on a higher calorie diet!
Food is fuel and carbs are my friend as they are a great source of energy.
No food is off limits! You can still enjoy social events without hating yourself the next day, planning and preparation is the key to success and everything in moderation!
Form is a lot more important than that ‘PB’ you lift and most importantly scale weight doesn’t mean shit! Measurements and photos show so much more
It’s all about making positive changes to your daily habits that contribute to massive changes!
When starting out on your fitness journey it can be very daunting! Our best advice - start small and take it one step at a time. Aim for progression NOT perfection.
After winning the Stronger Than Yesterday Challenge, I said to Sharn, YES of course you can share my progress photos! I made small changes like taking my gym bag to work and not going home until I had completed my gym sesh, parking further away from destinations so I had to walk further (more steps) and I took the stairs not the elevator. These small changes led to big results and I dropped 10kg!
Sharn’s support is like no other and I love being part of the SLF team. I live in Perth and have not met any of the other women, but I am very excited to meet them one day as I have made many friends within the FB community.
Before starting with Sharn I had very bad habits, did not train and went out with friends regularly. Since starting with Sharn I have improved my lifestyle, I focus on healthier food options and now enjoy regularly going to the gym!! Thank you so much Sharn and the SLF team for supporting me on my fitness journey! I am now building muscle, getting stronger and feeling confident training in the gym on my own.

I remember when I first started with Sharn I was a complete newbie to weight training. Weeks later with the support of Sharn, I was improving technique AND increasing weight! I now confidently turn up to the gym, open my training app and complete my sessions. I have built body confidence, self love and am getting strong! This to me is what it is all about!

I am so thankful for everything Sharn & the SLF team have done and all that they have taught me. Not only have I gotten leaner and toner, I have actually developed a healthy relationship with food. So many people get concerned and think tracking your mood is a negative thing but it's the complete opposite. I am finally understanding that I benefit from eating more food. I really could not have gotten this far without Sharn!
Before training with Sharnie I was terrified of walking into a gym and working out now going to the gym is what I most look forward to everyday. Before starting with SLF, I used to make excuses for why I didn’t eat properly or why I didn’t train.
My excuse was… I do shift work and I'm too tired.
I would skip breakfast every morning, I used to stop at the servo every morning before work and buy my lunch out of the hotbox because it was just easier than making food at home. I’d have large portions of unhealthy meals for dinner and I’d eat out a lot because I’d enjoy a beer and socialising with friends & fam.
Before and after work I’d do nothing because it was too much effort and I was too tired.
I slept 4 restless hours a night and struggled to drag myself out of bed every day. I’d feel lethargic and heavy on the footy field. I hated what I saw in the mirror and I used to hide from photos.
Since starting online coaching, I sleep 8-9 hours a night and I bounce out of bed every morning, full of energy and ready to start my day. Working in the mines, doing shift work is not an excuse anymore. I prepare all of my food for the week and I stick to it consistently because it’s easier, I feel better, I’m seeing crazy results, and not to mention, I’m saving money.
My mindset, routine and lifestyle has changed for the better and I’m falling in love with myself again.
I’m confident getting photos and I’m feeling more agile, light and happy running around at footy training.
I’ve learnt so much since starting and I’m not looking back!

I have never been confident enough to wear shorts and since training with Sharn I now own multiple pairs and confidently wear them all the time!! I finally look in the mirror and LOVE what I see. I have been training in a gym for over ten years now and about 2 years ago started training with Sharnie as one of her first clients. I have always incorporated weight training and lots of cardio into my training regime, but Sharnie introduced me to a completely different style of training. My training now focuses predominantly on high volume strength training with my main goals being to increase strength (rather than focusing on numbers on the scale or how my body looks). Sharnie has encouraged me and pushed me to achieve things I never could have imagined and to push outside of my comfort zone, including jumping in front of the camera for a photoshoot! At nearly 55 years of age I'm leaner, strong and feeling the best I ever have. It's very hard to try to unwind 50 years of thinking towards nutrition and growing up with the belief that low calories and low carbs is the way to go or that the number on the scale is the most important thing, but Sharnie continues to educate and encourage me every day around my training, nutrition and my body's need for fuel - and it works! Thanks, Sharnie for helping me to love my body for all it can do!
